Delicious sushi & maki, eclectic & surprising selection of craft beers in both cans & draft form. Delightful owner who’s always a pleasure to chat with.
A hidden gem in the South End, this sushi spot never disappoints, excellent sushi every time, the staff is friendly and on point, and the beer and wine selection is superb. Treat yourself and check out this fantastic restaurant + wine bar. And don't forget to ask the owner, Steve, for a beer/wine recommendation....
Fantastic sushi in a calming space. The proprietor also curates a surprising beer selection---but ssssshhhhh...it's a neighborhood secret!
Good foods. Nice little place. It has a small wine store with great selection.
Delicious! And so aesthetically pleasing! The lunch menu is perfect. I felt full after leaving and it only cost $10! The staff was pleasant, and very hard-working. They made sure we were comfortable and our water glasses were always full. They also were super sweet and easily helped us by accommodating 15 people during lunch. I’ll definitely be back again.
Awesome food and service
Delicious food and great service. Albeit, a little slow due to being understaffed, but still a great time. 4 roles + 2 sashimi for just under $70! Definitely revisiting.
Only place that I know of that you can get Other Half on tap in Boston.
Amazing sushi. Great wine. Awesome staff.
This place is a true hidden gem!!! I only give it up because we have moved out of the area :) Excellent food, stylish, friendly, cozy atmosphere, ample outside seating... But the best thing really is that the owner is always there! So you can be sure that the quality and the service will always be top notch. The kicker is a wine/ liquor shop curated by the owner, so you can grab a delicious and reasonably priced bottle to go for a complete night.
High quality sushi and huge wine selection: our sushi and sashimi combo was excellent and the alligator maki combined fantasy with high quality ingredients.Quiet and comfortable. Friendly service
Reliably excellent food and a really good selection of wines. The owner has done a special tasting and paring for my wife's birthday party that was truly outstanding.
Had lunch here today. The food was excellent and the service was great. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Asian food.
Good environment but the food was so terrible, if you’ve ever tried an authentic Japanese food, you won’t be able to accept the food here. I had a chicken teriyaki don and it was way to salty and the chicken was cold and dry, the rice was hard and too sour. For the salmon don, apparently the salmon is not fresh at all.Would not recommend!!!!!!!!!
Phenomenal spot with a undeservedly low amount of reviews. Seiyo was a diamond in the rough while waiting for another restaurant to open. The sushi was incredible, the maki and duck were perfect, as was the preparation. The draft and whiskey selection was phenomenal. The owner was VERY well versed in his selection and sources. One of my go to places now.
I have been many times never disappointed. Always great... one of the best places to eat sushi
Cute place, great service, and yummy lunch! We all got bento boxes and they were huge for a great price.
Left ZC because the service was taking forever to come here. They were heavy on the martinis, came to our table the moment we all put our menus down, and the food was pretty great. Will definitely return.
Excellent service, delicious rolls and great drinks. Vivian's recommendations were perfect. We'll definitely be back. Highly reccomend. - Chris and Carol
Decent price for decent sushi. Great for lunch if you work in the south end
Lovely meal and great atmosphere.
I eat in this spot a lot since I work in the area. I have to say the customer service is always awesome and they keep the place well kept constantly. Rates are affordable and they serve generous portions.
Very nice interior, quiet, close to our apartment and near many good places nearby. The drinks were excellent and the edammame appetizer was a good portion. The vegetarian maki selection was a large portion for a low price. One of our guests ordered the omakase (chef's choice) and it was beautiful and elaborate. Highly reccomend if you are in the area!
Phenomenal sushi place with a great wine and drink menu. I just realized that it's the only place I think of when I want sushi....and I LOVE SUSHI! Definitely check this place out, you won't be disappointed!
This place is a hidden gem! Service is wonderful, place so cute and small , wine and sake list is quite comprehensive, and food is delicious!! !! 5 stars!
Great atmosphere. The sushi is great
One of the best places in Boston. Whether it's for casual drinks or for awesome sushi or just for a great conversation. It's always better than you expect. Wei is great and Steve is phenomenal.
Sushi is awesome! Very fresh... Uni is the best! Friendly and knowledgable staff, excellent wine selection. Just when you think it couldn't get better they put in a bar! 👍👍👍
Fish was very fresh but rice felt little too hard for me.
An Omakase to experience! 5/5
The beer selection is great. I liked the sushi and for thirty dollars per person with a beer or two, you are satisfied. Of course there is better sushi but for something in the middle of the week and you happen to be in the area, it's a good place to go. It's also great to know the sell wine and beer in the back. Very convenient.
Amazing sushi place in south end, try maki combo its delicious and also cheap haha
I couldn't tell you how many times I've been here...too many to count! Consistently, Seiyo is the most delicious sushi I've had in Boston. Beautiful space, atmosphere warm and mellow, service great. Great environment for a date or grazing with friends. Go for it!
Had a great late night sushi dinner here. Wonderful ambience and good quality sushi. Calm environment to share a conversation in.
Good sushi cuts, A bit slow on the service
Had dinner there and one smaller bottle of sake, the waiter couldn’t really guide me on the sake selection and I ended up getting a small bottle but didn’t like the cold sake. The food was pretty good and prices seemed reasonable . Not a lot of people on a Friday night which is kinda strange for that area in the south end
The price to quality ratio is excellent, though I think I prefer their cooked food to their sushi
Favorite sushi place in the city
I've only been here to drink, but they have an amazing beer selection and Steve the owner is very nice. Will be back soon.
Food was great, fresh and tasty and the ambiance was good. Liked the simple decor. Price looked ok, but the portions were so small for the price we ended up ordering more rolls after having appetizers and our lunch selection, it ended up being a pricy lunch. Also the tea, which usually comes with meal in many restaurants, was $3, so $$ price rating is way off. In the end it ended up more like $$$ restaurant. Walked away not too full and much lighter in the wallet. p.s. chirashi, which is one of my favorite, had just a few items, missing many of my favorite pieces; when asked, they did not know what chiso was. It usually leaves me so full but not here.
Amazing hidden gem in the South End. You can't beat the value for price paid, and everything that I had tasted extremely fresh and high-end as if it came from some of the best sushi restaurants in Boston. Highly recommend!
Absolutely delicious sushi and a great cocktail/wine/beer menu to compliment it!My girlfriend and I came here for dinner and were blown away by the quality of the maki. Of note: we started our meal with a very good Wagyu Beef Tataki appetizer, and a sensational Cape Cod Caught Big Eye Tuna (with garlic ponzu and red onion) appetizer. The flavor profiles of the Big Eye Tuna appetizer were incredible. We will definitely be back.
Solid quality sushi for the price, and it's not usually crowded, which may be a good or bad thing, depending on your view.
Awesome sushi bar with an equally excellent wine store and craft beer selection! Was surprised to find this is one of very few places in MA to carry Bissell Brothers (cans) among other great beers on tap. Warm and friendly atmosphere where you can actually hear your friends in a hip industrial environment. Short wait (if any), great food and fantastic service - one of my new favorite spots 👍
For years friendly and consistent service and atmospheres with high quality and tasty food. The spirit selection just makes a visit for dinner even more worthwhile. Always happy and look forward to go here when in Boston.
Steve, the owner is the sweetest guy. Great place for food and nice collection of beers and wine!!
Cozy, great decor, hospitable owner and the maki roll was soooooo good.
Update: visited this place recently. Ordered the seiyo Bento box and was good, until I found plastic in the salad. Informed the server, who then apologized but acted like it was not a big deal. Will not be going there again!
They have a Lobster BLT to die for.Fresh ingredients made special request a it was done.Everyone should check this Restaurant out if U are looking for placed to eat.
This was my brothers omakazi meal, a chef's choice order and let me tell you, the service was amazing and as wonderful as the food. Come here and enjoy good food and drink
